Two horizons, one vision
Born and raised in Portugal, General Manager Simão Damasceno studied Hotel Management and has spent nearly two decades devoted to hospitality. Travel has long been his compass, fuelling a deep curiosity about people and place.
When he joined the opening team at Vestige Son Ermità in 2025, he sensed something different. “Vestige is about more than hospitality. It’s about creating authentic experiences, preserving heritage properties by maintaining their soul, and delivering highly personalised service.”

The art of opening
Launching a hotel is never simply about unlocking doors. It requires orchestrating design, landscaping, architecture, construction and operations into a seamless guest experience.
“Opening a property always comes with challenges,” Simão reflects. “Unexpected situations and high pressure are part of the journey. But with a committed team, we overcame every obstacle, and we’ll do the same again for Vestige Binidufà.”
There is pride in his voice, but it is measured. “Standing back on opening day and seeing how guests respond to the beauty of the place is an emotional moment.”
For Simão, what made Son Ermità’s debut so meaningful was witnessing the estate come to life not as a standalone hotel, but as part of a wider vision. Now, with Vestige Binidufà joining the story, that vision feels complete.
Two hotels, two energies

Simão describes the estates as a study in contrasts. Two properties that mirror and magnify one another. “Vestige Binidufà sits in a beautiful valley where guests can deeply connect with nature. It offers grounding, tranquillity and inspiration. The surroundings allow you to slow down and reconnect with yourself.”
By contrast, Vestige Son Ermità occupies a dramatic vantage point. “It has a different energy. Elevated, refined and visually spectacular, with panoramic views over the unfolding landscape.”
Together, they create a natural rhythm. One rooted and restorative. The other expansive and uplifting. For guests, the experience is fluid as they journey between both, enjoying the distinct character and facilities of each.

Curate your stay, your way
A day on the estates unfolds at your pace. Morning yoga as the sun rises over rugged terrain, followed by a nourishing breakfast crafted from local produce. Later, a buggy ride winds down to Cala Calderer, where the pebble beach and Mediterranean sea feel entirely your own.
Afternoons invite restoration. A soothing massage. A visit to the organic garden. Time spent with the beekeepers at the apiary. Perhaps a cycle ride along trails that weave through 800 hectares of unspoilt land.
As evening falls, you return to the terrace. A cocktail in hand, the sky shifts through amber and rose. Conversation lingers long after the sun dips below the horizon. Here, the landscape is woven into every part of your stay.
Beyond the estate
Venture further and the island reveals its quiet treasures. Cala Pilar is worth the walk, remaining blissfully untouched. Fornells is celebrated for its seafood and maritime heritage. Binibèquer offers a gentle window into local life, while Ciutadella’s historic streets pulse with culture and conversation.
A shared vision
Together, Vestige Son Ermità and Binidufà are more than the sum of their parts. Blending wellness, gastronomy, nature and meaningful connection to the land, they offer a considered pause from the everyday.
For Simão, leadership is inseparable from people. “Engaging with guests and creating genuine connections. But also, sharing knowledge, mentoring and empowering our team. That’s what creates hospitality with soul.”
That is the true luxury of Vestige. Not excess. Not spectacle. But intention expressed quietly and beautifully across two distinct properties, connected by one shared vision.
